Design and materials
TKL-W heaters are available in four sizes in double row design. They are designed for operation at a maximum working pressure of 1.5 MPa and a maximum working temperature of the heat carrier of 150°C. It is recommended to use water or non-freezing mixtures as a heat carrier. The casing is made of galvanised steel sheet. The heat exchange surface is made of 0.2 mm thick aluminium plates and 9.52 mm diameter copper tubes passing through them in a staggered order. The steel tube manifolds have threaded connections for de-airing the heat exchanger and draining the coolant. All heat exchangers are leak tested with 20 Atm water for 10 minutes.
Frost protection
Frost protection is a complex of interrelated measures preventing the heat exchanger from freezing under normal operating conditions. It includes the following components: capillary thermostat for air frost protection; immersion or surface-mounted return temperature sensors for water frost protection; BKU control unit.
Heat output control
The heat output of TKL-W heaters is automatically regulated by means of the BKU control unit and the USM mixing unit. Smooth regulation of the output is achieved by using the USM mixing unit as a pipework for the heater, which allows the supply air temperature to be precisely maintained.
Installation
The water heaters are installed in any position that allows for dehumidification. An air filter must be installed upstream of the heater to prevent contamination. The heaters should be connected in counter-current, as the heater capacity is reduced when the heater is supplied in direct flow. When installing the heater in front of the fan, it is necessary to regulate its power so as not to exceed the maximum permissible temperature of the air transported by the fan.
