Plate recuperator RKC

Plate recuperators are designed for heat (cold) recovery. The exhaust air, removed from the room, flows in the channel between the plates of the heat exchanger, heating them. The supply air flows through the other channels of the heat exchanger and is heated. The heat exchanger is made of aluminium plates, creating a system of channels for the flow of two air streams. In the heat exchanger, heat transfer takes place between these carefully separated streams with different temperatures. With this type of recuperation there is a complete separation of the air streams, which allows the use of plate recuperators in systems with high requirements for air purity. The efficiency of plate recuperators is about 70%, while the pressure drop on this element, as a rule, does not exceed 200-250 Pa. Recuperators require practically no energy consumption during operation and have high reliability due to the absence of moving parts. The design allows their use in supply and exhaust units of both tier and adjacent design. Condensate can form on the plates, they are equipped with outlets for condensate drainage. The kit includes a fitting which is mounted on a removable plate. The design of the removable panel is a kind of tray in which condensate accumulates. To avoid icing, a temperature or pressure sensor is installed on the heat exchanger to control the position of the bypass air duct valve. The bypass air duct is opened and the air damper installed on the supply air side is closed. The supply air passes through the bypass air duct of the heat exchanger and the exhaust air through the recuperator, heating the frozen surface of the heat exchanger. After thawing and lowering the pressure drop, the bypass duct is closed and the heat exchanger is opened to allow the supply air to pass through.
